Autopsy Table #1 - A Review of The Old Lady by Kristopher Triana
“Who the fuck are you?”
“Just some old lady.”
The Old Lady by Kristopher Triana is a nonstop adrenaline rush filled with gore and raw, volatile emotion. It kicks off after the first bullet is fired and doestn’t slow down until the last page!
The book follows Tracey, a 50 year old woman returning to hee reclusive father's cabin in the mountains. The same father who trained her to be a ruthless and efficient killing machine. Tracey finds herself needing to call upon these skills when a teenager shows up at the cabin, being chased by heavily armed men.
I've read quite a bit of Triana's work within the horror genre, and The Old Lady branches away from them in a way that was difficult for me to define. I'll start by saying that this wasn't a horror book, and u don't mean that as a vad thing. The Old Lady reads like an action-thriller, but with enough blood to rival an Evil Dead flick. No joke, there was a moment in the book when I gasped and shouted, “WHAT THE FUCK!”
Bravo Kris!
4 out of 5. GREAT!!
